Asus unveils Fonepad 8, MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8 tablets at Computex

Alongside the Transformer Book V, Asus has unveiled its Fonepad 8, MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8 tablets at the Computex 2014 in Taipei. While the Fonepad 8 gives users voice calling support in a large size, the MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8 are the company’s new Android tablets.

Asus Fonepad 8 is the successor of last-year launched Fonepad 7. The Fonepad 8 features an 8-inch HD IPS display and has a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 processor inside to give 1.8GHz quad-core processing.  There are dual front speakers along with SonicMaster audio technology to give decent audio experience. The tablet is claimed to have 72.2 percent screen-to-body ratio which allows users to easily hold the tablet and gives large viewing screen.

Asus MeMO Pad 7 is the upgraded version of MeMO Pad (ME172V) which was launched last year. Being the successor, the MeMO Pad 7 has a 7-inch HD IPS display, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and a 64-bit 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor.

The MeMO Pad 8, on the other side, is claimed to be the world’s lightest 8-inch LTE tablet. The tablet has an 8-inch full-HD display, 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3GHz quad-core processor, Wi-Fi, LTE and 7.45mm thickness. The company has used multi-layer coating with Non-Conductive Vacuum Metallization (NCVM) technology for building the MeMO Pad 8.

Asus has not yet revealed the availability and pricing of the Fonepad 8, MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. However, there are expectations that the devices will start getting into the global markets by the next quarter.
